I’m actually pretty happy with Fedoras 13 and 14. Fedora 10 was just an uncharacteristically weak release. They’ve since scaled back the upstart implementation (so that it is responsible for less) while they work out the bugs, and the parts it is still used for are a lot more stable. Pulseaudio continues to suck for anyone not running Gnome, but it’s easy to deal with (see http://stringofbits.net/2009/05/27/how-to-fix-pulseaudio-in-fedora-in-2-easy-steps/, and a follow-up article I intend to write focusing on the ins and outs of my recent experiences with wine). rsyslog no longer spams the console. And those PCI-E errors were, seemingly, caused by a bad motherboard.

On another note, I’m really curious about how you found this blog. It’s certainly good to see familiar faces in my comments. It can’t be a coincidence that you showed up hours after I migrated to wordpress.com for hosting, but as far as I can tell, I haven’t actually taken any actions that would have advertised the site to anyone yet. So, what alerted you to my presence?
