About the Site
A Random String of Bits is a self-indulgent blog about Technology, Programming, Video/Table-top/board games, and whatever else I feel like I have something relevant to comment on. Feel free to subscribe to the RSS feed if this sounds even vaguely interesting.
The site was conceived as a branch of my personal journal, which often contained, well, personal rants that interested only those familiar with my life. Seeking an outlet for more abstract, universally accessible rants, this site was born.
About the Author
A Random String of Bits is generated by me, Patrick Wiggins, an IT professional in my 20s. My interests (and the subject of my posts) include programming, Linux, video gaming, table-top roleplaying, science fiction, and strategy board games (from Go and Hnefatafl to The Settlers of Catan).
I enjoy using parenthetical phrases (such as this one), observing technology’s effects on culture, the Oxford comma, and over-used grammar jokes.
Full disclosure: I work for Red Hat, Inc. Obviously, the views expressed here are not necessarily the views of Red Hat, and this is a completely personal, independent site.
